Need Notes?
While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!
Very nice xenahorse  .
I'd like to pose a hypothetical question...well several. If we are willing to drill in refuges and other government protected land, why not expand to others? Why just stop with ANWAR? Why not go next to Yellow Stone, or the Grand Canyon? What's stopping us? Better yet, why don't we put some redwoods to some use? There couldn't Possibly be a reason that they're being protected.

APFAq wrote:that is true, but diesel fuel has drawbacks. Unlike octane or regular gasoliine it produces more fumes in the air that harm the environment. The percentage of emissions from combustion is much more higher than the emissions from regular gasoline. Bio-fuel would be the best. Have you heard of a bus in Europe that runs completely on fuel made by soybeans.
Well the cool thing about biodiesel is,its not like regular diesel, it sets off less harmful chemicals in the air than regular gasoline would, and it smells like french fries, And once again its only about 50 cents a gallon. And no i hadn't heard f that bus, but i'll check it out.
Well, biodiesel won't do. I refuse to use it. If it smells like french fries, I'll never go a day without eating them...

I wonder, how do you know that, Rowan? That'd be great instead of walking across my school's student parking lot and hacking up a lung everytime I accidently inhale exaust I could be smelling fries instead! That'd make for a nice change, indeedy so.

That's a relief, I thought you were referring to regular diesal. The hydrogen fuel that a few companies such as Shell seems to be pretty useful but costly. The only emission that you would get is water which is great. But due to the cost of the research and production it might take a couple of decades for it to be used world wide. Along with that where are they going to get the room to mass manufacture this fuel. The best alternative I see is scrapping the fuel cracking plants and making new ones.
