(Yes I know when. The point is, that debate took place in the early years of the US, when how to interpret the constitution was a big issue. While there still exists debate over some elements of the constitution, the majority of the constitution today has been interpreted in a non-literal sense to ensure its flexibility and preservation.)

Gun conrol is not a new policy. It was created 70 years ago by Adolf Hitler. It was then adapted by Stalin, Pol Pot, Mau Zedong, and other communist/fascist dictatorships. So, I guess we all know how the governemtns of these people turned out.

While I concede people should be allowed to own guns for protection, I don't understand people who take pride in having massive gun collections, and are so enthusiastic about what basically are complex killing tools. I think it's sad that some people need to own guns at all.

The thing is that the constitution says that there is a right to bear arms in a regulated militia. Militia nowadays is the National Gaurd. The general population, according to the constitution, does not have a right to bear arms. Its a comma between the first and second parts you fascists. :mad:
