it's a noble idea, but you have to take into the consideration that what you are talking about is really close to having, in addition to one religion, one language, one nation leader, one economy, one civilization and if that is the end if unity, then good, but it could also spread to one race, think Hitler. if we were to be one super duper massive nation we would still be competeing with one another over what national language to speak (probably chinese b/c it is the most spoken) and what to do about religion- religion is history. Also, what anout our debts to other nations? What about a document stating the laws and punichments? Will we have a constitution or what? What will be our form of government? You can't just undo it, and if we were somehow able to make it work conflicts would still arise. i don't think there is an answer as to how we should go about making "world peace" i think we are suppose to have war. it's part of the cycle.

this is our theory:

wars are created because of rival nations, religion, and greed. since the world cannot unite together as humans, (i really hope aliens exist and one day they attack earth with great vengeance so that the world can unite under one name: mankind) i was thinking we should have one nation. lol..that's a bit on the extreme side, but seroiusly that's what we were thinking. it'd be hard since all continents are spread out through out this massssssive earth. but what won't be bad would be same religion. if we were all one religion, we would all follow under its law and noone woudl ever call up a crusade or a jihad. nooone woudl have to criticize each other for their beliefs, cuz we'd believe in teh same thing. it doesn't have to be christianity...but i think if we alllll had one main idea in mind, the world would be a better place to live. i think the only way to solve world hunger and diseases is putting all of the world's military cost into research and development and assistance.

Or how about we don't read it, and you tell us why it is a bad suggestion/scary idea.

EDIT: nevermind, I didn't see the post you made before that one

And now to take a break from making attacks on other people's opinions (a la me to pianogirl), I think that a unified nation would be great, but it's not very practical. For one, it would be incredibly hard to govern. So inevitably it would be broken up into sections for smoother governing, and then there would be sectional jealousy, and we'd be back where we were before, except with some worldwide laws/legislation (that would be difficult to enforce anyways...).
