If you dont get into a good undergrad college does that mean you will be poor? Also, is it harder for asian americans to get into colleges cause i read that in princeton review

Not getting into a "good undergrad college" means next-to-nothing in regards to financial status. The acceptance process itself is based on you're performance and activities throughout your high-school career. Also, just because you do not get into Harvard or Yale does not mean that every other school is bad. For example, at SIU the school is not really known for it's Law program, however the Television program is one of the best in the nation as well as the Aviation program. These programs would not be available at an ivy-league style school. Each person perceives the quality of a school differently based on his or her own personal wants and needs.

In regards for it being harder for Asian-American's to get into colleges, this is false. Discrimination is illegal. While affirmative action itself is a legal and required process requiring quota's to be met, racial/gender discrimination is illegal. Meaning colleges cannot grant you nor deny you admission based on your race or gender.

Hope I helped. :D

what is ment by it being harder for asian-americans to get into colleges is simply that it is not easier. because of affirmative action it is more likely that an african-american or someone of hispanic origens will get in than that a white or asian-american will if they are all at the same level of academic capability. the only reason that asian-americans are not in the same boat as blacks or hispanics is because there are more who strive for a higher academic standard. (please don't jump on my back for being racist as i am not. this is my understanding of college acceptance as it pertains to race)

all in all, it's just another brick in the wall...

Most people look down at my school (Appalachian State) b/c it isn't the Duke or UNC that is well known around the world (for something other than football). However, it has one of the top business schools in the southeast, which is great for me since I'm double majoring in Accounting and Marketing.

I picked a school on the following things:
1) How did the campus feel? Did it feel like home?
---It's going to be your home for 2 or 4 years most likely, and if your not comfortable there, it's not gonna work out.
2) How is the (insert your major here) program?
---Some schools are better than others at things. App is known for business and education, not so much science and such. Find out what your choices are.
3) How are the professors?
---Go to open houses and feel them out. You're going to be dealing with these people a long time, and you want to have plesant people to work with.
4) Price
---Is it affordable? Always remember about loans and scholarships, they can help offset price. Don't let this be the deciding factor.

If your planning to go to graduate school, that will matter more than your undergrad school.

Hope this helps.

oh yeah. plus aren't they get some seven foot guy too. i think their one weakness this year was the lack of big players on thier team. do you know if ty lawson and/or wayne ellington will be back? i have heard both that they will and won't be back.
