You may think it's the DM's that hold things together, but its really the drums. Drums speed up or slow down, the band speeds up or slows down. You got that beat of the drums going through you at all times that sometimes you notice only on a subconcious level but you start to flow with the drums and go at their tempo.

It is ALL about the drums my friends!

Do we want to have that agrument again :P

The drum major sets the tempo at the beginning, the DM is always right, the drums then, are the ones who go wrong and drag the band down with them :)

So nyah :P

I think that the DM gives the beat and it's up to the drums to pull the band through, because most ppl don't even watch the dm. I'm in the gaurd too kristin! we rock!

I watch the drum major.

I'm in marching band an I play the baritone. Drum Major's always right; if the drums don't follow him, then it screws up. Not everyone follows drum line...I know I don't

Our drum major is really awesome. He's a junior and he's a really great guy.

in our band, we always have to run because the baritones can'tkeeptheir mouths shut. ahh! yet they sound great!

in our band, we run to keep up stamina. Our baritone section is awesome...we rarely get in trouble. It's usually the trumpet section and the drumline because they hate their instructors.

Our drumline is amazing though.
