Hi, I'm new, and I was wondering what's it like to do independent studies. I was planning to do at least Psych this year (how hard is it?) and Bio/Math (how about them?). I don't want to do just Ok. I want to do very well. Any tips? Study habits? How about if I have ADHD? Textbooks? Thanks !!

Need Notes?
While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!
I'd think psych would be the best of the 3 you suggested for an independent study. Psych wasn't very hard but I had a great teacher. Psych concepts are not very difficult to understand, you just need to do a lot of reading. For me, I definitely needed to have a teacher for AP calc. Some concepts just need to be explained in different ways to me, something that a person is much better at doing than a textbook.
Study habits would be just make sure you structure your time just like you would for any other class. If your independent study is from 9am-10am Mon and Thursday, make sure you use that time for that subject. Don't use it to do homework for your other classes that you should have done the night before and think that you can just catch up later. There's something about having discipline that will make you succeed.

If you choose to tae Bio the main thing to know is that it is alot of material. In retrospect its not a hard class the only thing is u have to reverve plenty of time to review the material. And don't worry if you don't understand a concpt after the first time because there will be several concepts where you won't seem to understand a thing, but just remember to take it slow and step by step.
Hey Edward- thanks for adding in some advice. Good docs too
