How's everybody rooting for? I have Florida winning the tournment but, of course, I've gotta root for my Salukis!

One of SIU's top scorers, Matt Shaw, got injured in the First Round game and is out of the game today against V. Tech! Hopefully the bench can step up. Looks like Shaw may be out for the rest of the tournament. He is deffiently out tommorw.

Quote:
REPORTER: Can you talk about Shaw, what his injury is, his availability and how if he plays or doesn't play affects you guys?

COACH LOWERY: If we had to play today, he probably wouldn't play. He needs some more time. I'm saying that meaning that we don't have a sense of urgency for him right now because obviously he's a junior, he's not a senior. So right now we're just going to kind of see how he does and judge that tomorrow and tomorrow when we play, we'll go forward and act like he wasn't there and I think that's the best thing to do. He's going to be the biggest cheerleader on the bench and our kids will continue to play hard.

REPORTER: What is the nature of his injury and how does that affect things?

COACH LOWERY: He has an ankle sprain. We have several different people that are leading scorers, they're different than they were then, I don't think that game has anything to do with it right now, he has a high ankle sprain, that's what he has.

O come on. Don't tell me that nobody else is into the tournament!

Chris? How about you man? Come on! Anybody?

O well.

SALUKIS ARE IN THE SWEET 16 vs. THE 1 SEED KANSAS!

And the good news. Shaw MAY, I say again, MAY be able to play the game. It's still debatable, and he deffiently won't be at the top of his game, but he's a key factor of the Salukis' team. If not, maybe Boyle can step up again like he did in the game against Holly Cross. That was an amazing game for Boyle. The best of his career. Then of course their is JT, the MVC Player-of-the-year, and Falker, the MVC Defensive-player-of-the-year.

We can beat Kansas, we just have to stop them in transition. We control the pace of the game.

Nope, you're alone here, sorry. You're at a forum for AP students nearing the AP test- what did you expect?

I have us losing to Kansas, but I'm expecting it to be a close game. I was thinking that the name "Kansas" would get into the minds of the players, but after talking to them and interviewing some of them, we could deffiently win this. I'm now ashamed to have Kansas winning. Excuse me while I go bang my head against the wall...

We should of had that in the bank. Few bad calls on the ref's parts that would have changed the game, but the main thing was our first-half shooting. I mean JT was 1-8 in the first half. That's insane for JT. We had the shots in that first half, we just weren't sinking them. Wide open, just not sinking it. That's why I wish we'd drive a little more. Go for the 2 and draw the foul. We excel at it, just weren't doing it at all in that game. But regardless, people are talking about how the Saluki's are the top defense in the nation. A "mid-major" team from the MVC? That's a pretty big achievement. A bunch of school records broke this year, a few players in the top 10 in school history in different categories. Rumours of JT and Falker going pro. Rumours of teams already looking into Shaw. Overall, good game. Excelent D on our part. We controlled the pace of the game for the most part. Held Kansas to 61 points. We should have won. Just bad calls on the refs parts and bad shooting on our part in the first half.
