Who's failing AP Chemistry?

AP Chemistry is a very difficult class. It's one of the most difficult AP exams, along with AP Physics. If you're failing, I wouldn't worry too much, as your teacher does not likely want you all to fail. There probably will be some kind of grade booster (at least, that's what my teacher did) at the end, and the harder the class, the more prepared you will be for the AP. Don't stress too much, and good luck!

Heh, It sounds like I should be almost glad that my school didn't offer AP Chem. I already have too much work with APUSH, AP Comp, and some demanding other non-AP classes. My "Honors Chemistry" class this year is a joke really, it's my easiest class next to band. We have no homework, and everything we've done so far I had already learned in 9th grade physical science. Already to the first midtris and all we've really done are unit conversions and a little bit with alpha/beta radiation, we just started electron levels... But the teacher is extremely awesome, so I like it.

I Have a C in my class currently as well, only because of Stoichiometry which is the only test I failed so far but Now that we're doing Gas laws it's a piece of cake...

I am taking AP Chem from 2009-2010 school year. I am a Senior. I have a 90.02 Right now which is an A. (AP Scale is 90-100 A 80-89 B 70-79 C, etc.) But we just took this hard nuclear chem. test and it will probably be around a mid 85-88 maybe. The best way to do well in AP Chem is the labs. The labs are about 30% of your grade and writing a good lab report, and showing good analysis will almost make up for a bad test grade. My labs have been 30/30 on both so far. It really depends on the teacher to be honest. I ust do not get Nuclear Binding Energy and Alpha Decay, etc. I kinda get it, but not to the point where I would do well on the AP test.

I'm a senior this year taking AP Chem as well, and currently I have no idea what my grade is cause our teacher stinks. The problem is that he doesn't even teach us anything all we do is go over problems from the book, and for homework he gives us the odd problems so we can check our answers in the back of the book. This might seem like a good thing since you'll have the answers when you do the problem so you can check it, but it's not cause there's no process and he gives us the odds so he doesn't have to go over them in class =.=. The thing that bothers me the most is that all of his quizzes are five questions long, even the tests are as well ( CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT A FIVE QUESTION TEST). Well, as for how i'm doing right now, I've gotten an A one test and 4 quizzes, and i've failed two quizzes ( 50 on one, and 60 on the other).

Yeah, I have an 86 in my AP Chem now. Not too bad I guess. We have the option to get 10 extra credit points once per quarter by doing analysis of a current event article. I am thinking I could get a 3-4 on the AP test which is my goal. But I would not worry about failing it. It's actually really hard to fail a class. (Even my worst subject is math, in Honors Alg. II I have a 78 and I have failed 4 quizzes and 1 test.. lmao)
