Is AP European history hard like AP United States History. I am trying to bring the course back to our school, because a lot of students are demanding for that course. If anyone has any info on the course please respond. Thanks

Compared to US it is a more comprehensive workload. It's necessary to be able to study supplemental documents, and on a college-level texbook the reading is much harder. An average student has about 1-3 hours of homework (we're on a block schedule so it's per two days). My personal workload is around 5, because I read the chapter, get the main idea, then go back and take notes on everything that is important. These notes tend to come in handy towards massive test/exam time (I just recently had a test covering the Enlightenment to the Industrial Revolution, thats 200+ pages of material, not to mention supplements!)
Tell your students that Euro's coursework will be more difficult, but there are less DBQ's than in APUSH. If they are not used to working, they had better be prepared to step it up because this course is challenging, and that was a class consensus.
In my opinion, AP Euro was much easier for me than AP US. European History is much more interesting, with their many beheadings and revolutions. In Euro DBQ's you don't have to bring in outside information, while in US you do. Also, somewhere I read that the students who take the AP exam (for Euro) have a higher chance of passing than the students who take the US AP exam.
From my experience, I would have to say that AP Euro is a harder class than APUSH. I think the main difference in difficulty concerns time periods. In AP Euro, I had to study from the Middle Ages to the Modern Age. In APUSH, I only had to study from the days of exploration and colonization to the Modern Age. The APUSH course provides a much smaller time span to consider. In AP Euro, I also, in the case of the World Wars, had to consider several sides of conflicts in extreme depth, rather than simply the American side or a few American political party's sides. This aspect of European history also leads to more in depth and extensive coursework.

Good luck at bringing the course back at your school... Although, it is a hard course, it is very well worth the effort. Last year, our AP Euro class pushed for an Ancient Civilizations class at our school that would cover the rise of man, ancient cultures, and Roman-Greco times. We got lucky, and we got it passed. So, Good Luck...
I found taking Euro was not as hard as taking US... Then again, I might be rather flawed in logic cause I took them both at the same time!

Basically It's the best class ever, so much better than APUSH, no comparison.
well my district does Euro first, then US. but supposedly (according to friends) after euro every other AP is a joke, and personally despite the heavy workload (which is to be expected in an AP) its really interesting and fun
