I know his stance on The US bank has something to do with this, but the book really doesnt have specifics...any ideas?

But I did skim a little and he wanted to destroy the bank, got re-elected with that as his platform, and took out all the governments money from the BUS (Bank of the U.S.). He put it in "pet" banks. Biddle was in charge of the BUS, tried to get money back from people, didn't work. Inflation follow, and there was a panic in 1837, a year after Jackson left.
Oh, and there was a charter to keep it going on the table in 1832, Jackson vetoed it and it was to be destroyed in 1836 anyways, before that all happened.
