Well I was looking over my last two years and I realized that I had better take more challenging classes. History seems to be my best bet but I'm not sure that I can handle it considering I did really bad this year--not to mention, I'm not sure I can even get the recommendation!
So all you bright, intelligent APers, what did/do you think of this class? Is it hard?
( APUSH, AP Lang & Comp, APEuro*, AP Physics*, AP Chemistry* )

So far it seems like a lot of buisywork coupled with impossible tests to me. But that could also be because I really don;t have a good teach for it- she's nice, but dosen't know how to teach. I'm not sure am=bout this class- dunno if I'll take the AP test for it yet.

APUSH was a lot of work for me, but now that I'm in college, I look back and realize that it was worth every moment of it.
AP Gov is one of the HARDest Aps out there. But, if you take the class in high school with an instuctor who will help you and you don't pass the test (worse case) then you will have your notes, study guides and everything to help you get through college. It is a lot of work and a lot of reading a memorization. So, personally if you have never taken AP before, I wouldn't want to start with this one, but if you have no choice, then go for it.

I would actually recommend taking it. It will get you prepared for college. You may be going nuts during that year you're taking the class, but trust me, from experience, it is worth it.
Yeah, the problem with the one I have to take is that it's only a semester long. But hey, if you've got a work ethic, go ahaed and take it!

I really don't like my AP Gov class, and as egotistical as this sounds, it's cause it seems too easy to me. Everyone in my class agrees, it's stuff we already know, but with fancy words.
I've been breezing through this year pretty much with A's.

AP Gov is the hardest class I've taken in high school so far. It's the first class I've gotten lower than an A in. I don't know if other people have this class for 1 semester or 2, but I found that cramming all the work into a semester was an overload for me.

I completely agree. I took this class online and was suppossed to finish in 18 weeks and it took me 35 because there was so much work and reading to do. It's just too much.

Coming from someone taking APUSH and AP US Govt at the same time:
APUSH is okay. It isn't very interesting in the 1700s or 1800s, but the 1920's and up are alot of fun to learn about. The class requires a ton of work. I have to complete 6 assignments per week: an outline (about 7 pages), document analysis (1-2 pages), summary of a Zinn journal (1 page), focus questions (5 questions), vocab (about 4 pages typed), and an FRQ or DBQ (2-4 pages). I spend anywhere from 10-15 hours per week doing homework for that class.
Government, however, is less work intensive; we only have outlines and vocab. It stays interesting throughout, but you have to learn alot in a short amount of time. Fun, but lots of reading involved.
I have an 85% in history, and a 94% in government.
You can't go wrong with either one. For me, government > U.S. history.
Well, APUSH can be a lot of work. My teacher doesn't really help us very much, as she gives us a broad scheme of things, and then we all fail her tests. She is making us work a little harder this semester, but I think that I'm going to fail the AP test becase we just wrote our first DBQ, so were screwed for the test. I would say take it because it does really help for college, and it might help you if you ever go on a game show. It is a great class, and you might get college credit!
