Online course

I am thinking about taking this class, but since it doesn't fit into my schedule, I would have to take the class online. Have you ever tried taking an AP course online? What would I have to do in order to do well? Does it prepare you enough for the AP?

I haven't taken an online course, but if I had to guess, I would say that you'd need to read the book- like really read the book- and get a good grasp on it, then maybe get a nice review book, and take some practice exams. Taking good notes is also important. And...ummmm....ummmm....yeah, that's all I got right now.

I am currently teaching myself AP psychology, because I don't have room in my schedule either. I recommend searching for AP US Government websites created by teachers online, and use their links to helpful notes and power points. I have 3 different sources for each section that College Board says will be on the AP test so I'm relatively certain that I will have thorough information on each section. I recommend reading everything that you print off at least twice, highlighting the stuff that seems important. Then get a review book (barrons or 5 steps to a 5 are the best AP books out there!) and read through all of that and take whatever practice tests you can find! Good luck!

Where are you taking the online course? I'm looking for a similar online option. I've tried simple googling and I have come up with nothing.

I'm not sure, because I was just talking to my dean and if I wanted to try the online option he would set it up for me. Hm. I really don't know if I should take it online. I don't know if I could handle another class... AFTERSCHOOL when I'm already exhausted with hours of homework left undone.

Sounds like it may be a VHS course cause its being set up through the school and what not. I will be taking a VHS course spring semester. They offer AP courses, but there was no way I could do three AP courses in one year. There is one kid at my school whose doing that, and he doesn't play any sports and whatnot, so theres no way I could do it. That said, I took the online orientation for VHS and it seems like its fairly thorough. If you combine that with some review books and all of the helpful sites (course notes, your book's site, etc) you should be fine.
