Can anyone help me??? I have looked on this site for an example but can't find one.I am suppose to write an essay for the 1993 DBQ question:
Although New England and the Chesapeake region were both settled largely by people of English origin, by 1700 the regions had evolved into 2 distinct societies. Why did this difference in development occur?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!:o

Need Notes?
While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Drop us a note and let us know which textbooks you need. Be sure to include which edition of the textbook you are using! If we see enough demand, we'll do whatever we can to get those notes up on the site for you!
Well, first you can either think of your thesis points- the reasons why- and then find your evidence to support it, of you can look at all the facts you have and try to fit them into 2-3 reasons why. Of you could do both, skim over the things you know and make a reason (or 2 or 3) and then go find points and add some reasons or change them or whatever. That's my basic thing for all DBQ's
I'm not sure how much info you have, or what you need help with, but if you do get more specific questions do feel free to post again. I will give you some links to some threads that may help you. This is a pretty common question among APUSH teachers. Also if you finish with your essay and would like me to look over it, you can either post it here and I'll take a look later tonight or you can e-mail it to me at [email protected]" class="bb-email">[email protected] and I'll have a look at it and send it back with suggestions. And I'm always happy to help over IM which (at least I like to think) helps people alot because you can make changes then and we can talk about stuff etc. but it's up to you really. I usually check the site and e-mail periodically through the day though, so let me know if you need more help!

Thanks for your suggestions. I have used them and think I have done a pretty good job of getting the points across. This is our one and only practice dbq so I am going it alone to see how good or bad I have done. I may be back later for further suggestions however.
Thanks for your fast reply!!:)
No problem. Do you have one DBQ the entire year or is it practice for later DBQ's that you're doing?
