Help with essay question:
Do you think that by the end of 1854 the two sections had reached an impasse and that Civil War was inevitable sooner or later? Why or why not?
Help would be lovely since i missed some school this week and am playing a highly stressful game of catch- up.

I have to write a 6 paragraph AP US HISTORY DBQ essay and i need help.... the question is: " the decision of the Jackson administration to remove the cherokee indians to lands west of the mississipi river in the 1830s was more a reformulation of the national policy that had been in effect since the 1790's than a change in that policy."
Assess the validity of the generalization with reference to the MORAL, POILTICAL, CONSTITUTIONAL, AND PRACTICAL concerns that shaped the indian policy between 1789 and mid 1830s.

We had that a few weeks ago as a test =/
Is the requirement set at 6 paragraphs? I got away with doing 5, including an exceptions paragraph. I had them as moral, political/constitutional, with practical interspersed in both paragraphs.
What do you need help with specifically?
[[EDIT]]
I noticed that somebody else had replied to this already. For the moral side, I didn't take it from the Cherokee point of view - I talked about the whole moral obligation of the Americans to civilize the Indians. It also somewhat justified taking away the land, since they reasoned that with less land, the Indians would be forced to give up a nomadic lifestyle and take up farming. Now that's what I call killing two birds with one stone =)
Just pitching out some ideas. Hope this helps!

One of my teachers put my essay style the best. It should be like a mini skirt. Long enough to cover the topic, but short enough to be interesting. If you do it right, you can even do a four paragraph essay unless your teacher set a minimum.
