What, if any, were the sectional conflicts that were present during the so-called “Era of Good Feelings”? What attempts were made to settle these conflicts in the order to restore national unity?
I'm having trouble coming up with 3 strong arguements for this...
so far i have the threat of the west and how the north and south were fight over it, wanting it to be slave/free state. Then attempts to settle include missouri comp. , the tellmadge..but that wasnt passed. I'm just not positive how to state my 3 arguements. Any help would be appreciated.
Well, to be quite honest, I don't agree with your topics. The Tallmadge Amendment and the Missouri Compromise are basically the same things as the slave/free state thing, so I would use them as examples rather than separate topics. Instead I think that I would use the rise of labor unions and the need for the Monroe Doctrine.
Now how to start the essay, I would talk about how dispute often hides under the cover of unity or something like that and how even though things appear to be going well, there can be underlying issues. To end the paragraph I'd say examples of this are these three topics and then start into the body.
