Okay, in chronological order (be happy, this is rare for me)
Louisiana Purchase
Adams-Onis Treaty (Oregon)
Missouri Compromise
Texas
New Mexico and California
Umm, if I left anything out sorry, I'm kinda in a hurry. Finals time, you know...
So anyways, the main issue for well, almost all of these (except maybe the LA purchase) was whether it would enter as a free or slave state, northern or southern state.

I know this may sound stupid... but whats the Adam-onis Treaty :p

Naw, that's not stupid. Had I seen it on the AP test, I would have said the same thing. It's where we got Florida from the Spanish and they redrew the line of Mexico all the way to the Pacific. I'm sure wikipedia can do a better job of explaining it though...
And I forgot one. Oregon goes after Texas. This was settled with the Oregon Treaty (this was the whole "54-40 or fight" thing). Again, I'd check wikipedia. I don't trust my own eyes very much at the moment.
