i have a few questions on my study guide that i can't find the answer to.
1.explain why the ohio valley was so critical to both the french and the english
2.explain the colonial reaction to the hiring of the hessian mercenaries
3. explain john jay's covert actions in thwarting the pro french and spanish activity at the peace conference
4. explain the causes of the french and indian war

1.) the ohio valley... think about where that is located. The French, they had this huge beaver trade thing going on, and a lot of it was based in the Ohio Valley because it leads both towards the Atlantic Ocean and down towards Mississippi. The English, on the other hand, wanted to get control of Canada (which the French also had). The only way for them to achieve this was to capture the Ohio Valley.
