I think for nationalism you just have to look at the info and sort it out - there's no easy way of searching for it that I can think of. Just look for things that brought the country together as a whole or stuff that everyone had in common. Sorry, I wish there was an easier way.

Okay, for number two you're probably going to be wanting to talk about things like the louisianna purchase, which was the acquisition of land that all the colonists had wanted for years so they could expand, the war of 1812, which was the first war we fought as a country, The Adam-Onis treaty which gave us even more land in 1819, and how foreign policy was about trying to keep us out of the world's problems so that we could concentrate on making sure our country was stable.

Hmm.. Well, the info I gave you was an example. I didn't give you a thesis (you have to do that yourself). Besides, I think the info that pianogirl gave you is more than enough for #2. If you want you can add to the nationalism of them creating American Literature. Washington Irving was the first American to be nationally recognized. He wrote "Knickerbocker's History of New York", The Sketch Book", Rip Van Winkle", and "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". James Fenimore Cooper was the first American novelist to be nationally acclaimed. He wrote "The Spy", "Leatherstocking tales", and "The Last of the Mohicans". And William Cullen Bryant was the first to gain fame with his poems. His "Thanatopsis" is said to had been written when he was 16. Also, Due to the raise of nationalism, many other writers with the transcendentalist views came into play such as Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Walt Whitman, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Louisa May Alcott, etc. Along with the rise of Doctor discoveries such as the discovery of using ether as anesthtics. Crawford and some other guy I forgot figured that out, but there are some controversy as to who used it first. I just know crawford 'cause he's from Georgia and that's where I'm at. There are also many art. Like the art school i told you that focuses on painting american landscapes, there's also military schools being built, etc.

As for #3, you can add more about how religion was extremely important to the American people (besides, the american people came to the new world for freedom of religion). That's one of the reasons why they won't establish a national church. The mormon religion was formed around this time and it was by Joseph Smith who believed to had recieved some golden plates from an angel. So you can talk about the mormon being prejudiced and hated. YOu can also talk about how in the second great awakening it widened the lines between classes and regions. One of the people who encouraged the awakening was Charles Grandison Funney and Peter Cartwright. A key feature in the second great awakening was the feminization of religion in both terms of the church membership and theology. in other words women were allowed to participate in church ativities more than before and the way of thinking was more.. feminine.

ok, that's all I can remember. Seriously. Hope it helps.
