help with a DBQ

i have to write a dbq on
"in what way did the french and indian war alter the political, economic and ideological relations betwwen brittian and its american colonies?"

my tentative thesis/intro is

"Before the french and indian war briitian and the colonies enjoyed a rather relaxed relationship of trading and little enforcment of the navigation acts. However because of the war, there severe strains emerged in thier relationship such as taxes, restrictions, and general abusiveness towards the colonists. these economic strains ultimately led to the start of the american revlution."

please suggest any improvements and or other thesises(?)
thanks

Hi there Johnny,
Perhaps I are you in AP US History at Timberlane? If so this advice is no longer necessary, however, emphasise the fact that the changes were subtle, dont take it past the time period. The changes that occured were notable, however they were not substantial. They set the ground work for changes which occured after 1766 aka the Revolution, mention it, but don't focus on it. Just stick to the changes, and dont exagerate.

Sorry for the lag response this time, Yes focus on the current changes. Explain causes, the changes themselves, how they were significant, and hint at its long terms affects. The biggest two points to remember:

>Focus on 1754-1766.
>Dont exagerate the changes, they werent Earth-shattering.
