I'm having an in-class essay test, and all we were told was that it would involve something between 1800 and 1840. I was wondering if any of you have any ideas as to what the question or topic will be. Thanks!

While we strive to provide the most comprehensive notes for as many high school textbooks as possible, there are certainly going to be some that we miss. Okay here's a thread from maniacman with some topics from 1801-1840

And here's one where I posted a list of possible topics from 1800-1824.

You can add to it:
Nullification (although unlikely, good to know)
The Bank Issue
States' Rights
Social Reform Movements
Literature (also rare, only if your teacher went into details)
New Religions (Mormons, Utopians, Trancendentalists in reverse order)
Immigration
Urbanization (possibly combined with immigration and industrialization because of factories)
Inventions (mainly how they contributed to urbanization and the slavery issue, although another rare topic)
Early Westward Expansion
I realize that many will overlap between my lists and maniacman's but I'm kinda busy, so I didn't have time to cross reference. Good Luck!

"I'm floating around in ecstacy!" :D

Yeah, that should be on a list somewhere...
That was what the other girl's essay was on at any rate.
Of course, there are like five different ways to ask about it.
