In regards to the American Revolution, John Adams said "The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people." Is this valid?
I think i'm going to write about how he was from Virginia and was rich. The revolution was actually a minority movement so it untrue. he was educated and didn't need to worry about money, so he really didn't care about fighting.. Right? What else can i add? :)
John Adams

Are you kidding me!? The Revolution took place in the colonists' heads way before the actual fighting began. It just took that one spark to start it.
So yes, it's very much valid indeed.
I had this essay just like a week ago and I said it took place in the heads of americans way before the battle started. Spew off some lockian theory and quote a couple things from common sense as your evidence and you should be fine. Also talk about how almost everyone was really in to politics and such. Did that help at all or just confuse you? Lol.
my teacher told us that our upcomming essay would be on the philosophy of john adams..... is that what your talking about and if so.... what should i put in it?
Umm Mr. Slacker and Armando, i never thought about it like that and i'll try to incorporate that in.
Hey inthefog. I don't know, but i guess so. You could write about him being rich and from the upper class of society and how he wanted change the colonies themselves. Maybe...
when you say change the colonies themselves... do you mean the colonies wanted to change or john adams wanted to change the colonies. what a.p book do you have...
?
i mean john adams wanted to change the colonies. The New England colonies and especially Boston where Adams was from wanted change ie: the Boston Tea Party and the Sons and Daughters of Liberty, based in Massachusetts. Even at the Continental congress americans didn't want independence but came up with a list of grievances.
I have the American PAgaent textbook tenth edition. and the REA AP US History Review Book
