just a few questions.

Hi I'm Cleo and I'm 16,
nice to meet you all.

ok Well I have to identify all these people/places/events and thiere importance in the time period for one section of my summer assinment and theres just a few I'm stuck on.

1. Mali -- I know its a country was part of French Empire in 1800s but I don't know what it has to do with US history. (slave trade- Henry the Navigator?)

2. Merchant-capitalists -- again I know the basics of this, but I don't know how it ties in to colonialism or US history.

those are the two that I'm haveing trouble with at the moment.
Any Ideas?
thanks everyone.

Have you tried using an online search engine that's historically baised, like wikipedia or dictionary.com? Those should help, and if not, try looking through the vocab on this site.
