Multiple choice

I need help when it comes to multiiple choice. I know that it is meant to be the most essiest of all the sections on an exam-with four choices how is that hard? right? But to me multiple choice sections are somewhat tough. I am a genius when it comes to essays and DBQ;s, but when it comes to multiple choice sections, i just blank out-i can get like a 59 out of a 70.

it's 5 choices btw :-p making it even tougher

you've got to use a LOT of common sense I've noticed >.> and just rely on yourself. Try to get it down to around.... 2 answers then go from there?

Take out all the obvious WRONG choices first.
If it doesn't come to you right away after this, and you ahve no idea, guess. It can't hurt, plus you have like what. a 1/4 chance of getting it right, and probbably a 1/2 chance if you get the choices down.

well you CAN guess but... you don't want those 1/4 points taken off. It is just the like SAT where they take off for WRONG answers :(

hey,
guess if you have eliminated two, that is what most books say, and btw, 59 out of 70 along with great essays will be an auto 5

The formula for the test is pretty simple: get 38 on the M/C, and a 5 on the DBQ and two essays and you automatically have a 3 on the test.

Get 53 on the M/C, 4 on the DBQ, and a 6 or 7 on the essays and you have a 4.

Get well above 53 on M/C, and you can pretty much fail DBQ and essays to get a 5.

When taking a multiple choice test, I always trust my gut, and go with the first answer that I think it is after getting rid of the obviously wrong ones. If you put something down and then second guess it, it will probably be wrong. It is very important to follow your first gut instinct because it is usually right.

Also if you have to completely guess chose the longest answer if there is an obvious differance in length between them all.

*If one answer is a lot longer than the others it probably means that they had to justify it so it is probably the correct one.*

Those are the main guidlines that I follow for taking m/c tests.
