This is finally my last of many essays I had for this summer but I need help with it:
Explain why the French and the British fought over North America in the 1750s and the 1760s. What part did the Indians play in this conflict.
-Thanks to everyone who helped me with my essays this summer and I'm so happy that this is the last one. Thanks!!
For the reasons why the Fench & British fought over NA, just think about all of the resons why Europeans wanted to colonize new land; Overpopulation, new resources, gold, converting people to Christianity, economic supremicy, the like. I'm not sure what you mean in the second part. Like their role in the French/Indian war? >_< I'm confused....

Causes:
-Both the French and British claimed possession of the land between the Appalachians and the Mississippi (trading posts)
-Both wanted to pursue beaver pelt trade economies with the Native Americans
-Because the British were Protestant and the French were Roman Catholic there was religious conflict. To the British settlers French control over North America was a threat to their religious and other freedoms.
-New Foundland had really really good fishing
Well, quite simply as the name of the war suggests the French and Indians were allied. Some sided with the British, but in the end no matter what side the Native Americans fought on, the lost people and land.
