well, what was important in world war II..let's see.

To help you understand what happened better, I would split the war into categories.

I. The War with Japan
(all of the big events (Pearl Harbor) and battles (Midway, Makin, etc.) and about the Atomic Bomb
II. The War with Europe
(know of Hitler, Stalin, and of course Hitler's rise to power and all of the important battles and why they are significant (Battle of Bulge, etc.) and how Germany was defeated (D-Day to slow march into Berlin)
III. Great leaders in the war
-know a lot about FDR and the elections he was in, including the actions h took in office concerning the war. Don't forget Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, and all of the War generals (MacArthur, Nimitz, Eisenhower, etc. and which battles they took part in)
IV. The conferences during the war, who was there, and what they accomplished (Munich conference helped hitler, Casablanca conference was u. surrender, etc.)
V. in dealing with the economy remember that America was the only country better off than before the war, and that it hit record production rates and had the biggest debt from it.

I could go on but then i'd be writing the chapter over for you, lol.
Just read the outline on this website and the terms associated with the chapter while reading along with the book. That's the best way I study. Good luck.
