The DBQ question is "To what extent were Thomas Jefferson and James Madison strict constructionists?" I think that Jefferon and Madison both became a loose constructionist when they became president, but all the documents seem to support that they were still strict constructionists. Could anyone help me out in that they tell me some tips or information to use on this DBQ?

Jefferson became a loose constructionist from the Louisiana Purchase, embargo act, naval war with the tripoli pirates, and some more that I can't think off the top of my head.
