US History Contests?

Hey, i was wondering. If course-notes.org provided contests for its members (possibly with prizes), would you participate?

I certainly would but how many other people would? Heres a brief explination of each contest i put in the poll.

Essay - You would write an essay about a proposed question and the best essay would win. (wed judge by the AP scale) topics could be from previous essays on the AP test or something like "what was the most important event in American History?".

Random Drawing - You would submit you name and we would select randomly a winner.

History Fact - we would pose a question from US history and, say the 100th, correct response we recieved would win.

If you responded other, please, specify what sort of contest you would participate in.

I would do the Random Drawing or History Fact...the Essay Contest would be too time consuming for my busy schedule. No time to write one on top of all my other things to do.

the problem w the history fact would be you could just look it up online. the essay we would either need a great prize or to make it lieka 1 page thing probably.

I would do the essay (provided that you aren't in the class of course), but yes, it would have to be limited or be something I reeeeeeeeeally wanted. Let's face it, many of us are overacheivers who are pretty much loaded enough from school and and after school activities.

The random thing would be good, but I think it would be better if you combined it with the history question and limit it to one entry per person. That way we weed out most of the lazy people.

But yeah, if I could win something I'd enter....I'm planning to go to an expensive college, so any help will do! ;)

One more thing, but don't want to edit...

I'd make any history facts obscure...stuff like "what leg was this guy shot in" and stuff.

Well, maybe not that obsure, but you get my gist.

I think the essay one would be okay. or the random drawing. all of them sound fun, and.....kinda could be helpful in my studies. if we could get feedback on essays and stuff, that'd be cool.

Well, money is always a good prize. Something fun would also be good, like a video game or something, I'm guess that there aren't going to be a whole lot of system give aways...shame, but like I have time to play on a new system and learn the controller. You may want to put in something that would help students, like a review book at the beginning of a year or a jump drive...a fairly nice one that has good storage. I'd say food, but I'm not supposed to take candy from strangers :p . Gift cards to supply stores or like best buy or something too. I could really use one to Barnes and Nobles......but that's beside the point (or is it? ) Anyways...

It's hard because you want to have something for people who are serious about studying, but you want to have people entering too. Anyways, that's my two cents worth and I WILL be expecting payment in the near future. I know, my fees are high, but I need those two pennies to pay for college, it's expensive! :o
