I hate History AP because the class is different for everyone who takes it. At my school US History AP is divided into a two year course, at the end of this year I will only be at the Civil war, this leaves me unable to help many people studying for the AP exams right now =( Anyone else hate this too?

We don't do it that way...it's a one year course here. That's interesting that it's a two year course. I've never heard of that. There is a bit of an advantage at my school if we take AP US - after the exam, we get to watch movies all month because we'll be finished!
we've watched one movie, gangs of New York. It was good and an excelent depiction of life in the north pre civil war.

Yeah...we have only watched PBS specials and such with starnge backround music...but the seniors do tell me that the world hist. honors teacher got his idea of showing simpsons episodes and Marx bros movies from the APUSH teacher, so maybe after the AP exam...

Haha, my teacher refuses to let us watch movies during the year because it takes up lecturing time...
Our school system has had us reading the American Pageant since Kindergarten (roughly 3 chapters a year). This year, we're finally going to take it.
We watched Schindler's List and Gangs of New York (after school extra credit) and...shoot, I always forget the name of it. It's about WWII in Russia I think about the sniper. It really is a good movie though.

One really interesting, WWII-era movie that I've seen (in middle school, though) has been 'Swing Kids'. If I remember correctly, it was about postwar Germany, and the kid recrutment and brainwashing that happened.
