I'm not entirely sure how common it is, and I don't really trust my guess.

But here's my suggestion for your essays. Take a deep breath before you start the test and try to keep the adrenaline at bay. You get a period where you get to read the questions. I suggest that you read all of your questions carefully and start to make outlines. When I say outlines, it doesn't have to be special. For me what works is if I put down my three points and which documents I'm planning on using where for DBQ's. That way you don't have to think as hard or worry whether you're on topic or not. And planning your documents is probably a good idea so that you don't have too little at the end and have to put in an extra sentence or two. Divide your time up by paragraph or essay leaving a few minutes to spare just in case one part takes you longer or to go back and check your work.

If you have a hard time staying on topic (as I do. I can go off topic all day...) then it might be a good idea to skip you're thesis statement or introductory paragraph until the end and that way you're guaranteed to have everything fit into your thesis. Simply skip some lines in the beginning. And don't waste time erasing. Just cross things out.

That's all I've got right now, but you can im me at pianogirl2422 on aim or e-mail me at [email protected]" class="bb-email">[email protected] if you have questions or want some more info about the test.

Good Luck!

it is quite rare to get a 5 and pretty rare for a 4, i have a paper with percentages of people last year who took it and which scores they got but i'm not sure where it is. i know last year at my school kids averaged a 3.3 because a lot of them concentrated on the essays and bombed the mc

here, i found the sheet actually. these are for 2004, so two years ago:

5: 10.81%
4: 20.91%
3: 24.91%
2: 24.73%
1: 18.63%

these are national stats; to get a one, though, is pretty near impossible if you at least try, i would think

ok, the apush test is not that hard. for a score of 5, try getting a 65% on the mc and 7 (out of 9) on the dbq and both the short answer questions. this is garranteed a 5.

i took a few practice tests that were released, i seem to find that the last 20 or so questions are very hard. they purposely put in choices that seem right, although they are not. so for the apush test, dont be tempted to pick the choices that look right at first glance. usually, u'll want to guess on the questions if u can eliminate at least 1 of the choices (which is mostly possible) because the probability of getting 1 right out of 5 is pretty good. (this will ensure that you lose and gain no points, so if u can get more than 1 out of 5 guesses, u gain points instead of lose them) the worst that can happen is if u guess then all wrong. LOL good luck to both u and me since i will be taking this test tomorow morning -_-

Has anyone taken the AICE U.S. History Exam by Cambridge University?
