alright i got to write a compare and contrast essay about merchants during the early postclassical period. this thing kinda ties in with islam. my paper says
"For many years the trade routes connected the far east with the empires in the west. as cultural diffusion continued and merchants gained greater influence, concepts of philosophy and religion influenced social political and moral views of merchants.
Compare and contrast the various PoV's and views related to trade and merchants."
im not sure i understand how to write this essay considering there were not many famous merchants other than muhammad...any thoughts??

Ibn Batuta!!!!! You are right, it is VERY much about Islam. You don't need to talk about famous merchants, talk about how different merchant groups influenced society. As far a how to write it:
Intro
-Social influences
-Political influences
-moral influences
Conclude
I know it seems basic, but just start from there :)
