Self-study?

So I'm a junior taking global 9 and 10 regents(regular) this year( I moved from a different state so different classes) and I'm doing rather well in both classes, about a 98 in both classes. My work load from my other courses isn't exactly alot and i've talked to my teachers about taking the ap world exam andtheyve said there's nothing to lose so go for it. I was wondering if self-studying for the world ap exam would be a good idea or not, and if it is, what are the best prep materials( I've never taken an ap class or exam prior to this before)

Go guide an AP world history study guide, I'm going to get one today my AP World teacher told me they're really helpful you can get one at the bookstore or amazon, I believe there are flashcards as well. You have to learn how to write the AP style essays, I believe that is covered in study guides and they have practice essays. Also, use this website(course notes) and this websibe[URL=http://college.cengage.com/history/world/mckay/world_societies/5e/studen... It's very very helpful they have quizes for every chapter! :) I hope I helped some, good luck!

Good luck. =]
I recommend Princeton Review along with Barron's flashcards. Those two together would be really great for self-study. Princeton has a great overview and Barron's card's go a little more in-depth. That's what I used although, I wasn't doing self-study but I think that would give you plenty of information.
