Summer Homework! HELP!!!

Okay, so I am taking AP World History. and I need help because im so confused. Our teacher gave us summer homework that is due on the first day of school. School starts on August 30, 2011. The question she asked us to answer is:

"How are regions defined? Why do several different ways for region defintion exist? How would defining the world regions differently impact the work of historians around the world?"

We have to write more than one paragraph. And our information has to use examples from one outside source and these websites:
