Hey there, I was just wondering what textbooks you guys use and your thoughts on them. Since my school does not offer AP World History, I've taken up studying for the AP World History exam independently. Right now, I'm kind of leaning toward World Civilizations:The Global Experience since I've read that a CD-ROM comes with the book containing multiple choice and essay chapter quizzes.

Hey thanks, but just to clarify, did you use that book with a regular World History course or an AP WH course? I'm guessing you took the AP course but I was just making sure... so how did you think the book helped you prepare for the AP exam? Does it kind of get bogged down in details or is it pretty straightforward? I'm studying for the AP exam w/ a Barrons AP World History study aid book, did you use a study guide book? Would you definitely recommend buying the textbook or do you think a study guide book would do the job?
i hate books
So do I but we are forced to read. I really hope that books become obsolete one day like in Farenheit 451. I rather read stuff from the computer and magazines.

I use it for AP US History. I was just making a point that I like the book format versus magazines, internet sites, etc. I have decided on not buying a textbook for AP World History, and instead am just going to study copies of previous AP World History exams and use Barron's AP World History guide (which everyone seems to love).

Here, I was responding to APfaq's post that said World Civilizations: The Global Experience was an excellent choice for an AP World History textbook. I could not have been referring to The American Pagaent because that is an AP US History textbook.
