if your having trouble grasping how an asymptote could converge think of a square. Then inscribe a circle in the square. In the are not covered by the circle inscribe circles again. Repeat this an infinite amount of times. you are always adding on area but it will never exceed the area of the square.

Thesis: The earliest civilizations arose in river valleys with the contributions of domesticated plants and animals; these groups had specialized skills that lead to civilization today.
Before Civilization
-Artistic tools, complex socials relations, and sophisticated skills give evidence that culture began to develop.
Food Gathering and Stone Technology
-stone age=stone tools, but also bone, skin, and wood
-stone age=paleolithic (old stone age) and neolithic (new stone age)
-bulk of food was wild vegetables; meat was eaten at feasts

US operates under a constitutional democracy.
There are basic rules by which politicians must act to accomplish there goals.
Direct Democracy ? government in which citizens vote on laws and select officials directly.
Democracy- government by the people , both directly or indirectly, with free and frequent decisions.
Representative Democracy- government in which the people elect those who govern and pass laws; also called a republic.

Energy Conversion: a decrease in energy use based primarily on reducing unnecessary waste of energy.
Energy Efficiency: the measure of how much work we can get from each unit of energy we use.
