What did John Adams say in his ?Thoughts on Government? ? John adams had published this to
explain how he wanted to share his thoughts on how the government could change. He used the

British Whig theory of mixed government. The purpose of this is for him to distribute power and

to preserve liberty. He insisted on separate institutions like legislature and executive and

judiciary. He also presented that there be an elected governor with veto power and an appointed

judiciary.
