My old AP US History Teacher, Mr. Tomlin, was a senior AP grader. He said any ETS Free Response Question used the same rubric:

Definitions- define every incident in the prompt (i.e. the Han Empire was the successor to the Qin Empire, from 200 BCE to 200 CE, the Roman Empire was the Empire started by Augustus (date needed) to 453 CE).

Insight- bring in relevant logical, philosophical principles.

Database- in the body paragraphs, make sure to cite the events with the event (date) format.

Parameters- explicitly state the time frame

Chapter 1
The faint scent of lavender filled the air as a morning breeze rolled through the meadow. The sun lit up the grass with the help of frosted dew, making it sparkle. The absence of clouds made the field look like a paradise in heaven.
Taking in a deep breath, Skylar let the wind brush against her face, soaking in the peaceful moment. It was short-lived, as she could hear the croaking of her grandmother from the valley below.
