Inclusion
Inclusion: Making it Work Kelly Jackson Charles, PhD Fayetteville State University Inclusion in education means that all students, regardless of their disabling condition or reluctance to learn, are supported in chronologically age-appropriate general education classrooms, within their neighborhood or choice school, and that those students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) receive the specialized instruction designated as appropriate in their plan. What is Inclusion? Students who are fully included, are members of the regular classroom and are not members of a separate classroom that is designated as ?specialized? based on the tendencies or characteristics of their disability.
