Controlling Pests

Pesticide: anything that kills pest. (pest are things that are not wanted)
*Used in agriculture, food storage, shipping, home use, water purification, preservatives and more.
Types of Pesticides:
- Biocide: Kills many things, most broad spectrum.
- Herbicide: Kills plants, mostly weeds.
- Insecticide: Kills insects.
- Fungicide: Kills fungus, most dangerous!
- Acaricide: Kills arachnids (8-legged) ex: spiders, ticks, mites.
- Nematicide: Kills nematodes/roundworms - most are parasites.
- Rodenticide: Kills rodents.
- Avicide: Kills birds.
Types - based on chemical structure:
- Inorganic: Usually has poisonous elements like Arsenic.
- Natural Organic: Natural toxins from animals or plants.
- Fumigants: Small Carbon-compounds (gaseous form).
