Headlines such as the ones below were read by millions of people during the years of World War II. Your assignment is to write a one-paragraph "news story" for each headline. Your story should tell what happened, why the event was important, who were the major personalities involved, where and when the event took place. Take the information from the text, but rewrite it in your own words in the form of a news story. Use your own paper; write the headlines, then your story. Choose five of the seven headlines.
