Chapter 16- Multinationalism on the Map Supernationalism- Establishment of numerous international associations in political, economic, cultural, and military spheres. Technically it?s the efforts by three of more states to forge associations for mutual benefit and pursuit of shared global goal. International Sanctions- Designed to induce states to change their behavior. Isolates a country that behaves in a way that is deemed inappropriate by the international community. One was put on South Africa, it caused foreign firms to leave and almost all foreign investment to dry up. From League of Nations to United Nations League of Nations (1919) Collapsed during WWII Initiated international negotiations on maritime boundaries The United Nations Came after WWII and League of Nations
