I. The Sui Dynasty (581-618) - The Sui Dynasty was shortlived, but it did have many achievements. The China was unified for the first time in 300 years.

II. The Tang Dynasty (618-907) – This dynasty lasted for 300 years. Central government was strengthened, the economy was improved, and power was gained in China. Culture flourished during this time.

i. Government – strengthen central government, civil service exams
