Taylor Jefferson Who Understood Her but Her They accused Hester Prynne of the ultimate sin of adultery; but she was forsaken, They viciously rebuked her actions, so she lived her life as a pariah, They crushed her reputation, so she was to live the rest of her life piecing it together, They tacked a scarlet letter to her bosom, so she was to live her life hidden and alone, Who understood her when she said she found a pearl in the rough. Who understood her when she said this was beautiful. She gave birth to not only a daughter, but her dearest treasure, She looked to the clouds and found the silver lining concealed within, She took her talent of needlework and found not just a job, but acceptance
