Vocabulary Entropy- a thermodynamic quantity representing the unavailability of a system's thermal energy for conversion into mechanical work, often interpreted as the degree of disorder or randomness in the system Catabolism- the breakdown of complex molecules in living organisms to form simpler ones, together with the release of energy; destructive metabolism. Anabolism- the synthesis of complex molecules in living organisms from simpler ones together with the storage of energy; constructive metabolism.
