History of the Compass
The Role of the Compass in Finding America During the Age of Exploration, the use of the magnetic compass as a navigational tool changed the course of travel for people all around the world. This maritime instrument enhanced travel because it gave voyagers confidence to sail beyond their normal shorelines and venture further out to sea knowing that they would be able to retrace their path with ease (Discovering). As a result of the use of the magnetic compass, there was an increase in wealth, an influx in scientific and technological inventions, as well as an improvement in European exploration which eventually led to the discovery of the new world called America.
