June 4, 2012 Idalmis B. Perez Ms. Dickinson THEMATIC ESSAY CHANGE - IDEAS The ideas of individuals have had a significant influence on groups, nations, and regions. Ideas are thoughts of an individual, its way of of seeing things or wanting things to be. Individuals in this case can be leaders, dictators, thinkers, scientist, activist and independent. My two individual are Rafael Leonidas Trujillo (dictator) and King Louis The XIV of France.

Trujillo questions Question 2: How did Trujillo come to power? A: Trujillo came to power because Trujillo made a deal with the rebellion leader of the rebellion against the former president, Horacio Vasquez, in 1930 that allowed the leader to take power over the Dominican Republic. In return, Trujillo would be able to run for future presidential elections. He then became the nominee for the new Dominican Party in the presidential election of 1930. He ended up winning 95% of the electoral votes and immediately began dictatorial actions.
