Official language in 42 countries, more than any other language. 2 billion people--one-third of the world--live in a country where English is an official language. English Colonies England established colonies during the past four centuries and brought their language. Colonies Include: America in the 17th century, Ireland in 17th century, South Asia in mid-18th century (India), South Pacific in late 18th century (Australia, New Zealand), and southern Africa in late 19th century. Even if only a select few, typically the elite and colonial rulers could speak English, it became the official language.

A?language family?is a group of?languages?related through?descent?from a common ancestor, called the?proto-language?of that family. The term 'family' comes from the?tree model?of language origination in?historical linguistics, which makes use of a metaphor comparing languages to people in a biological?family tree, or in a subsequent modification, to species in a?phylogenetic tree?of evolutionary?taxonomy. No actual biological relationship between speakers is implied by the metaphor.

Essay Guide Thesis: Make a STRONG thesis statement! Answer the question addressing the change over time of the era. Divide it up into usually three categories. Body Paragraphs: Topic Sentences need to be specific concise and answer the questions, should be in the same order as the categories listed in your thesis. Include TONS of SFI (specific factual information) to PROVE what you?re saying in the essay. ANALYZE that specific factual information. Conclusion: Not all that important. Do it if you have time as long as you get the body paragraphs done and include the sustainable information. Basically repeats the thesis in different words.

Five Paragraph Essay on Presidential Assets and Liabilities of Military Service Being the president of the United States is a huge responsibility. The more assets a person has as he comes into office the better chance he has of serving his country well. One of the president?s responsibilities is being Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the country. Another is being a leader in politics, economics, personal morality, and in Congress. A third area of responsibility is international affairs. In each of these areas the president may bring assets or liabilities depending on his background.
