Public Opinion and Political Socialization Public opinion is the combination of people?s attitudes or beliefs shared by part of the adult population. In a country as large as the United States, there are many levels for opinions on any issue. Not everyone will feel the same on any one issue or as strongly as others about that same issue. The process of developing opinions on political issues is called political socialization.
