Will Bowdoin Mrs. Gumbart English 10 7 August 2011 The Creek He wakes to the sound of me, peaceful and untouched. I know he feels my presence, but is distracted by the aroma flowing through the familiar household. Eggs, bacon, grits, and a biscuit, all is too good for my humbling appearance. The chirping, croaking, and light display overpower my silk-like movements, as I quietly wait for him. It is clear what this boy loves, for it is all around him. He is one with it, and respects its existence. As his flesh meets the cold, brown dirt his soul once more turns to me. Companions of the boy come and go, sounds like rushing traffic become the norm. Electronics blind his sight and artificial Sounds fill his ears. The hours pass and the boy returns at last
