Chris Manguno AP English III Huck Finn Questions April 3, 2014 1. Describe the Widow Douglas.? How does Huck respond to the Moses story?? What does this tell the reader about Huck's character? Widow Douglas is a kind woman who has pretty much adopted Huck, she lets him live in her house. She prays a lot, before meals and in closets. She brought up Huck like similarly to how Pharos?s Daughter did for Moses. Huck Finn was interested in the story of Moses until he found out the man had been dead for a long time. This shows that Huck believes that only people living in the present are worth his time, and doesn?t honor the past as much as he honors himself. 2. Discuss superstition as a motif.? Provide examples.

Analysis: Chapters I?V It is appropriate that The Awakening, which is essentially a novel about the social constraints of women in the Victorian era, opens with the shrieking complaint of a constrained parrot: ?Go away! Go away! For God?s sake.? These words, the first in The Awakening, immediately hint at the tragic nature of the novel, as the bird echoes the phrases of rejection and rebuff that it has heard time and again. Although Madame Lebrun?s parrot speaks English, French, and ?a little Spanish,? it also speaks a ?language which nobody understood, unless it was the mocking-bird that hung on the other side of the door, whistling his fluty notes. . . .? Caged and misunderstood, the parrot?s predicament mirrors Edna?s.

Idalmis Betsabe Perez February 12, 2013 Mrs. Southard Macbeth By: William Shakespeare Macbeth is a play written by William Shakespeare in which he shows us how an ambitious man and woman can get a person to take somebody?s life. Macbeth is the king?s cousin thane of Glamis and thane of Cawdor. Macbeth at first is like a hero. A person who fought wars for others, for his country, for his King. On the way of doing good he met three witches that give Macbeth and general Banquo prophesy that makes Macbeth and his wife a little more ambitious and crazy than what they already are. Although Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were the ones who killed the King I believe the three witches are the one to blame.
