When she married a British trader, Bryant ward, she changed her name to Nancy ward from her Indian Nanye?hi.

Judging John Adams National Security-9 John Adams did a great job of protecting our country from foreign and domestic threats. For example, France used privateers to attack U.S. merchant boats. This hurt the economy as well as citizens. So John Adams sent diplomats over to France to discuss a treaty to stop France from attacking U.S. merchants. France asked for a bribe but the U.S. diplomats refused. This angered the French and almost started war. But, John Adams stopped the war by having peace talks and the tension between the United States and France died down. This prevented war and stopped the attacks on U.S. merchant ships. Economy-10

These provisions included freedom of religion, speech, and press. It also included rights granting trial by jury and the right to bear arms. The provisions also prohibited the government from taking land from the people, as well as sentencing cruel and unusual punishments. The ninth, or silent, amendment says that the naming of a right does not take away the rights of others. Lastly, the tenth amendment stated that people had control over all the things that were not given to the federal government.

John Adams Presidency Description When George Washington receded from the Presidency, he left a huge role to fill in. Through a steady support in New England, John Adams narrowly defeated Jefferson in 1796 and became the next President of the United States of America. Adams is best known for keeping the peace while in office and continuing the American policy of neutrality started by his predecessor, George Washington. This was important for the still young Nation and Adams?s handling of foreign and domestic affairs changed history forever.
